Pyongyang: North Korean Defense Minister No Kwang Chol asserted that "US military moves on the Korean Peninsula have become increasingly blatant in threatening Pyongyang's security," warning that this could constitute a dangerous escalation in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Kwang Chol stated that "the joint air exercises between the United States and South Korea, and the deployment of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier strike group, are increasing political and military tensions on the Korean Peninsula."

He added that "the visit of senior US and South Korean military officials to areas near the border with South Korea, and their holding of meetings to strengthen deterrence and integrate nuclear and conventional forces, reflect a hostile nature towards his country."

The Minister warned that "any threats that cross the boundaries of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's security will become direct targets and will be dealt with accordingly," emphasizing Pyongyang's readiness to respond to all threats and take offensive measures to ensure security and defend peace.
