Erbil: The North Oil Company has announced the potential resumption of Kurdistan Region oil exports through Turkey, which could occur within the upcoming 48 hours. This anticipated development follows ongoing negotiations and preparations aimed at reestablishing the oil supply chain between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director of the North Oil Company, Amer Khalil, revealed that oil companies have sought assurances to secure their rights and dues. In response, the government has agreed to provide these necessary guarantees, facilitating the progress towards resuming exports.

A source within the North Oil Company’s production department confirmed that the company is set to receive oil from the Kurdistan Region in Zakho, which will then be exported to Turkey’s port of Ceyhan. The source noted that a representative from the company participated in a recent meeting where an agreement was reached involving the Ministry of Oil, the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Kurdistan Region, and regional oil companies.

Oil exports are expected to resume once the Iraqi Council of Ministers grants approval, a decision anticipated to be made tomorrow.
