Kirkuk: North Oil, in cooperation with the Heavy Engineering Equipment Company, is nearing completion of the rehabilitation of the IT1 unloading station. The engineering and technical staff at the North Oil Company, in collaboration with the Heavy Engineering Equipment Company, are continuing the work on this station as part of a strategic project aimed at strengthening the northern export system and increasing its operational readiness.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Burkan Al-Azzawi, Assistant Director General of North Oil for Production Affairs, stated that this project is part of the Ministry of Oil’s plan to enhance the infrastructure of the oil transportation and export sector and increase export capacity via the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline. The rehabilitation will allow for the export of approximately 300,000 barrels per day of Basra crude to the Turkish port of Ceyhan. This initiative also aims to secure crude oil supplies for government refineries located within the North Oil Company’s geographical area, thereby contributing to the stability of the national crude oil transportation and distribution system.

He explained that the project is being completed according to the specified timelines, with a specialized team working around the clock. The rehabilitation work is progressing rapidly, achieving advanced completion rates, and it is hoped that the project will be completed and the station put into service in the near future.
