Gaza: UN Spokesman Stephane Dujarric announced on Thursday that a UN team had brought in about 75,000 liters of fuel into the Gaza Strip, marking the first such shipment in 130 days. The provision of fuel is crucial for the region, which has been facing severe shortages.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dujarric stated, “The amount brought in yesterday is not enough to cover one day’s energy needs.” The limited supply highlights the urgent need for more comprehensive solutions to address the energy crisis in Gaza.

Dujarric further emphasized the dire situation, noting that “fuel is still running out, and services will cease if much larger quantities are not brought in immediately.” The blockade imposed by Israel earlier this year had severely restricted the flow of goods and resources into Gaza. Although the blockade was partially lifted with a US-backed plan that circumvented the UN, the current fuel supply is insufficient for the region’s needs.
