Baghdad: The National Nuclear, Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Regulatory Commission has addressed the ongoing concerns regarding the control procedures for the entry of goods and materials into Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission issued an official statement clarifying that a circulating video clip questioning these procedures lacks accurate technical and scientific foundations. The Commission emphasized that it operates an integrated system of radiation inspection gates at all Iraqi border crossings, including land, sea, and air points. These gates utilize the latest internationally approved technologies and are overseen by specialized technical personnel.

The Commission further noted that it enforces strict control procedures on all incoming goods and materials. This includes comprehensive radiological inspections to detect any signs of contamination or abnormal activity, ensuring the highest levels of radiation safety. Immediate action is taken in the event of any violations or suspicions, adhering to national regulations and international standards set by the International Atomic Energy Agency.

The Commission reaffirmed its dedication to its national duty, emphasizing its commitment to protecting Iraqi citizens and the environment from nuclear, radiological, chemical, or biological hazards.
