Oil Holds Gains Amid Anticipation Of US Fuel Demand Growth

Baghdad: Oil prices were little changed on Monday as investors assessed the impact of Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refineries that could disrupt crude oil and fuel exports, while monitoring growth in US fuel demand. By 00:09 GMT, Brent crude futures rose 3 cents to $67.02 a barrel, and West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 8 cents to $62.77 a barrel.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, contracts rose more than 1% last week as Ukraine escalated attacks on Russian oil infrastructure, including the largest oil export terminal in the port of Primorsk and the Kirishenvyorgyintez refinery, one of Russia’s two largest. Investors are also monitoring US-China trade talks in Madrid, which began on Sunday amid Washington’s demands for its allies to impose tariffs on Chinese imports due to its purchases of Russian oil.
