Baghdad: Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani emphasized that hosting the Baghdad International Energy Forum underscores Iraq’s significant role and its proactive steps toward leadership in the energy sector. In his address at the forum, he stated, “Our goal is to diversify energy sources to 30 percent by 2040.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Oil Minister further noted that the event in Baghdad sends a clear message about Iraq’s resurgence as a sustainable energy partner on the global stage. He highlighted Iraq’s capability for engaging in dialogue on energy transition, pointing out that both the government and the Ministry are focused on sustainable growth in the energy sector.
