Baghdad: Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Minister of Oil, Hayan Abdul Ghani Al-Sawad, held discussions with a delegation from the U.S. company ExxonMobil on key issues related to the oil and gas sectors. The meeting focused on the potential for collaboration to bolster Iraq’s energy infrastructure and production capabilities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Oil stated in a press release that the meeting, attended by Bassem Taher, Director General of the Petroleum Contracts and Licensing Directorate, addressed technical and investment matters concerning the development of Iraq’s oil and gas industry. The discussions aimed to explore avenues for enhancing technical expertise and increasing investments in the sector, which is pivotal for Iraq’s economic growth and energy security.
