Oil Ministry discloses the development plan for the Arido oil field

Baghdad / NINA / – Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani stressed the importance of developing the Arido oil field, which is considered one of the promising projects, and the Ministry aims to move it from the stage of exploration activity to the stage of actual production, as expectations indicate the size of the oil reserves of the field, especially Musharraf reservoir, which includes oil reserves amounting to more than (12 billion and 900 million barrels).

Abdul-Ghani said, during his sponsorship of the signing ceremony of the commercial advertisement contract and the development plan for the Arido oil field within the tenth exploration block in the governorates of Muthanna and Dhi Qar, that “the planned production of the Arido field in the development program for its first phase aims to reach a production rate of (30 thousand barrels per day) in 2025, up to the planned peak production, at a rate of (250 thousand barrels per day) according to the agreement with the operator of the tenth exploration block.

For his part, the Ministry’s Spokesman, Assem Jihad, said that the Arido oil field is located within the tenth exploration block between the governorates of Dhi Qar and Muthanna, and the development of this field comes within the ministry’s plans to sustain and increase oil and gas production from the fields and exploration blocks scattered throughout Iraq.

Jihad added, “The most important goals of developing the tenth exploration block and targeting the productive reservoirs in it, by the Ministry is to convert the exploration blocks into oil and gas producing fields in cooperation with international companies, and work to develop the economic reality of the governorates of Dhi Qar and Muthanna and achieve the goals of sustainable development for our dear province.” / End
