Oil Prices Climb Amid Persistent Middle East Tensions

London: Oil prices saw an increase of more than one percent on Thursday, recovering from losses in the previous session as ongoing concerns over Middle East tensions heightened ahead of the US presidential election. The rise in prices reflects growing apprehension about potential supply disruptions in the region, which remains a vital hub for global oil production. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brent crude futures increased by 95 cents, or 1.27 percent, reaching $75.91 per barrel. Similarly, US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose by $1, or 1.41 percent, to $71.77 per barrel. This uptick in prices comes amid mounting anxiety over Middle East stability and its impact on global oil supply. This week's crude price rally, which has seen an increase of nearly 4 percent, has helped offset last week's losses exceeding 7 percent. The previous decline was largely attributed to concerns about demand in China and a reduced likelihood of supply interruptions from the Middle East. The current market dyn amics underscore the volatility of oil prices in response to geopolitical tensions and economic forecasts.
