Oil Prices Could Surpass $100 a Barrel Amid Strait of Hormuz Disruptions

London: Oil prices could exceed $100 a barrel within days if a solution is not found to the disruption of crude oil flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, The Guardian reported concerns about the potential surge in oil prices due to ongoing disruptions in one of the world's most critical oil supply routes. The British newspaper highlighted the warning from Goldman Sachs that global oil prices could not only surpass the $100 per barrel mark within days but might even reach $150 a barrel by the end of the month if the situation remains unresolved.

Goldman Sachs pointed out that the oil exports via the Strait of Hormuz, a vital trade route connecting major oil producers to global markets, have decreased beyond initial expectations. The disruption follows a recent US-Israeli attack on Iran. The Guardian further explained that while Goldman Sachs had anticipated a reduction in crude oil flows to 15% of normal levels, the effective blockade by Iran has caused an even more significant drop, with only 10% of usual shipments managing to pass through the narrow waterway.
