Oil Prices Rise Amid US-Iran Tensions

Baghdad: Oil prices rose for the second day as traders focused on tensions between the United States and Iran, which overshadowed signs of increasing supply.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brent crude rose to nearly $70 a barrel, after gaining almost 1% on Wednesday, while West Texas Intermediate crude settled near $65.

Although US President Donald Trump indicated that his goal is to reach a nuclear agreement with Tehran, in comments following talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, traders remain concerned about the possibility of military strikes and the resulting risks to supply.
