Baghdad: Iran expressed skepticism about the US Administration's seriousness in the nuclear talks, after President Donald Trump announced new sanctions on Iranian oil exports.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the continued sanctions, stressing: "This is an indication that Iran is right to deeply doubt the United States' seriousness when it comes to pursuing the path of diplomacy."
Trump had stated in a social media post: "Any country or person that purchases any amount of oil or petrochemicals from Iran will be immediately subject to secondary sanctions."
The US President's statement came after Iran and the Sultanate of Oman announced the postponement of the next round of nuclear talks with the United States, which were scheduled for Saturday.
