Aleppo: The Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service (CTS) announced today the killing of one of the most dangerous leaders of the ISIS terrorist organization, along with two of his companions, during a precision airborne operation carried out by the International Coalition in Syria.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the CTS issued an official statement highlighting that the operation was based on intensive intelligence and security efforts conducted by its units. The operation, which took place deep within Syria’s Aleppo province, resulted in the elimination of the senior ISIS figure and his associates.

The statement further revealed that the targeted militant had previously served as the “Wali of Wilayat al-Furat” (Governor of the Euphrates Province) and was a member of ISIS’s “Delegated Committee.” At the time of the operation, he was holding the position of “Wali of Wilayat al-Khayr wal-Barakah” and was considered a high-priority, active, and influential target.

The CTS confirmed that the operation was executed based on precise intelligence provided by its units and in accordance with arrest warrants issued by a judge from the Counter-Terrorism Court. The CTS reiterated its commitment to continue strategic operations to pursue the remnants of terrorist cells, both within Iraq’s borders and across external threat zones.
