Mosul: More than 20 residential neighborhoods were flooded due to rain and floods that swept the city of Mosul during the past 24 hours. A source in the Civil Defense told the Iraqi National News Agency / NINA / that “the Civil Defense teams mobilized their cadres, along with the cadres of Nineveh Sewerage in a number of neighborhoods, including Wadi Hajar Al-Shifa, Al-Mamoun, Al-Ghazlani, Al-Dawasa, Al-Maliya, Al-Dhabat, Al-Suwais, Al-Sukkar Al-Nour and Al-Baladiyat, to evacuate dozens of Mosul families whose homes were flooded.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director of Nineveh Sewerage, Mahmoud Younis Faraj, confirmed that “the rainfall was at a rate of 35 mm within half an hour in Mosul, and this amount represents three times the capacity of the networks, but we were able to drain it through the sewage networks.”
