Wasit: The administration of Zurbatiya border crossing in Wasit province has announced that more than 200,000 Iranian pilgrims have entered Iraq through the crossing, as part of the influx of visitors heading to Karbala for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Brigadier General Atef Naji, Director of the crossing, stated that the crossing is witnessing a daily flow of over 60,000 visitors. He noted that the Border Ports Authority has increased its staffing to facilitate the entry process and ensure smooth procedures.

Naji added that it is expected that more than 60% of the Iranian pilgrims will enter Iraq through Zurbatiya border crossing, highlighting its significance as one of the main entry points during the pilgrimage season.

It is worth noting that Zurbatiya crossing records the entry of over three million Iranian visitors annually during the Arbaeen pilgrimage.
