Islamabad: The Pakistani National Security Committee (NSC) convened on Wednesday under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, following an Indian military operation that targeted nine locations in Punjab province and Pakistani-administered Kashmir on Tuesday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the NSC concluded its meeting by granting the Pakistani Armed Forces the authority to respond to the Indian military actions. The committee strongly condemned India’s actions, labeling them as blatant violations of Pakistan’s sovereignty.

The NSC firmly rejected India’s accusations concerning the existence of terrorist camps within Pakistani territory. It highlighted that the Indian attacks on cities such as Sialkot, Shakargarh, Muridke, and Bahawalpur in Punjab province, alongside Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Pakistani-administered Kashmir, were aimed at civilians and infrastructure, breaching international law.

The committee urged the international community to acknowledge the gravity of India’s “illegal and unjustified actions.” It reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to peace and stability, asserting that any breach of its sovereignty or territorial integrity, or harm to its citizens, will not be tolerated.
