Ankara: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has embarked on an official visit to Turkey today, marking a significant diplomatic engagement with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Palestinian Ambassador to Ankara, Faed Mustafa, confirmed that President Abbas's three-day visit is set to include meetings with President Erdogan and other Turkish leaders. The visit is part of ongoing political consultations between the two nations, underscoring the historical ties that bind them.

Ambassador Mustafa highlighted the importance of this visit amid escalating tensions, particularly the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. He noted Turkey's critical stance towards Israel and its consistent support for Palestinian rights, including the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
