Baghdad: Parliament Speaker Haibat al-Halbousi issued a call today, Friday, for attendance at tomorrow's session dedicated to electing the President of the Republic.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi urged political leaders, heads of parliamentary blocs, and members of Parliament to attend the session on Saturday. The session aims to elect the President of the Republic and fulfill constitutional requirements while prioritizing the supreme national interest amid the country's security and economic circumstances, which require everyone to bear their national responsibilities.

Al-Halbousi further stated that the names of absent members of Parliament, as well as the political blocs preventing their members from attending, will be published to inform the public.
