Baghdad:Parliamentary Finance Committee: The Council of Representatives is set to host Minister of Finance Falih Al-Sari and senior ministry officials to discuss the 2027 draft budget law.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the meeting, scheduled for tomorrow, aims to review the general budget law before its formal submission to Parliament. Riad Al-Tamimi, a member of the Finance Committee, emphasized the importance of this session in ensuring that the committee is informed about the budget preparation process, as stipulated under Article 61 of the Rules of Procedure.

The discussion will focus on the preparation mechanism of the budget and how it addresses contracts, wages, and job grades. Al-Tamimi added that the committee is also keen to clarify details amid reports of third parties speaking on the Minister’s behalf. As part of the preparation for this session, the Finance Committee has outlined an agenda and proposed questions for the discussion.
