Baghdad: The Parliamentary Integrity Committee has made a formal demand for the Prime Minister to dismiss the head of the National Investment Commission and has urged that the related file be referred to the judiciary.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, MP Hamid Al-Shiblawi, a member of the committee, announced this call during a press conference held on Monday. Al-Shiblawi highlighted the initiation of a movement aimed at questioning the head of the commission. The committee has gathered documents that reportedly detail penalties, legal violations, suspicions of administrative corruption, and instances of job exploitation.

Al-Shiblawi emphasized the committee’s trust in the judiciary’s ability to safeguard public funds and prevent the misuse of state resources for partisan gains. He expressed concern over the impact of such actions on ordinary citizens, particularly noting that the dream of homeownership has become unattainable for many due to these alleged corrupt practices.
