Baghdad: A closed meeting involving the heads of parliamentary blocs and committees, attended by Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah, concluded with new proposals aimed at resolving the vote on four contentious laws scheduled for discussion today.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, members of parliament revealed that some blocs have suggested postponing the vote on the draft law concerning the return of real estate to its original owners until the session’s end. They propose prioritizing the vote on the draft law concerning military service and retirement for the Mujahideen of the Popular Mobilization Forces. Meanwhile, other MPs have agreed to formally consult the government and the Supreme Judicial Council about the final version of the draft amendment to the General Amnesty Law. This agreement includes a provision that the vote on this amendment will take place only after an official response is received from the gover
nment and judicial authorities. Additionally, some MPs have linked the passage of the proposed Personal Status Law to the military service and retirement law for the Mujahideen, contingent on achieving a legal quorum and ensuring a parliamentary majority.
