Baghdad: The Parliamentary Legal Committee has confirmed the withdrawal of the Popular Mobilization Law from Parliament, with its voting postponed indefinitely.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Committee Vice Chairman Mohammed Anouz stated that all political parties have agreed to delay the approval of the Popular Mobilization Law in Parliament. The decision to withdraw the law was influenced by internal and external objections to its legislation. Anouz mentioned that the law would be reconsidered for legislation and approval once political blocs reach a consensus on it.

He also highlighted that there are several significant laws currently pending before the parliamentary committees. These include amendments to the Anti-Narcotics Law, the Council of Representatives Law, the Right to Access Information Law, and the Retirement Law, among others, which are awaiting legislation and approval in Parliament.
