Baghdad: The Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee has confirmed that the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) law will be discussed today, denying reports that the law had been returned to the government. The committee stated that the legislation is still under its consideration.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, committee member MP Yasser Iskandar Witwut clarified that the PMF law remains with the committee and has not been sent back to the government. The law, which addresses the administrative structure of the PMF, is set to be deliberated in the committee meeting today as part of its legislative process leading to potential approval in Parliament.

The committee member further explained that several significant laws are currently under examination by various parliamentary committees. These laws are expected to be forwarded to the Presidency of the Council of Representatives, aiming for their inclusion in the agendas of future parliamentary sessions.
