Baghdad: The US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, announced that the number of wounded American military personnel during operations against Iran has risen to 427, amid the continued exchange of strikes between the two sides.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, data from the Pentagon's Defense Casualty Analysis System, as of July 17, shows the Army recorded 287 injuries, the Navy 68, the Air Force 53, and 19 Marines were wounded.

Washington and Tehran had signed a memorandum of understanding on June 18 to end the conflict that began on February 28. However, the United States resumed its strikes on the night of July 8, claiming they were in response to Iranian actions against commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz.

In response, the Iranian Foreign Ministry labeled the American strikes as a serious violation of the understandings. Meanwhile, the US Central Command continued to bomb targets inside Iran for the seventh consecutive night.
