Basra: A person was found dead near his workplace in the area between Safwan and Umm Qasr districts in Basra, leading to the arrest of two of his colleagues. The Basra Police Command confirmed the incident and the subsequent arrests.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Command’s media office indicated that a team was promptly assembled from the Safwan District Police Department, the Zubair Anti-Crime Division, and the Criminal Evidence Department. The team acted based on suspicions surrounding the circumstances of the death, resulting in the arrest of the deceased’s two colleagues.

The statement further noted that the body has been transferred to the forensic medicine department to ascertain the cause of death. Investigations are currently underway to reveal more details about the incident.
