Planning Ministry Discusses Mechanisms for Including Companies in the National Product Promotion Guide


Baghdad: The National Product Promotion Committee at the Ministry of Planning, in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity’s Investment and Contracts Department, held a workshop today, Monday, dedicated to discussing the mechanisms and conditions for including companies wishing to register their products in the National Product Promotion Guide. Representatives from several government departments and institutions benefiting from the committee’s services participated.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director of the Quality Management and Institutional Development Department at the Ministry of Planning, Mohammed Sabah Al-Mukhtar, emphasized that the workshop aimed to raise awareness of the importance of supporting national products and encouraging their use in various sectors. He explained that strengthening confidence in local products contributes to supporting the national economy and reducing reliance on imports.



Al-Mukhtar added that the workshop included a review of the committee’s role in activating initiatives to support local products, an explanation of the application process for including products in the national guide, and a discussion of the most prominent challenges facing Iraqi products, as well as ways to develop cooperation between the public and private sectors to overcome them.



During the workshop, several practical proposals were presented aimed at expanding the base of beneficiaries of the committee’s services and strengthening communication with relevant stakeholders, thereby facilitating the inclusion of new products in the national guide.



The Committee representatives emphasized that the primary objective is to establish a culture of reliance on national products as a key pillar for supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development.
