Sinjar: Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, affirmed the support provided to the forces deployed on the borders with equipment and supplies to enhance their capabilities in carrying out their assigned tasks and duties. He also directed them to maintain efficiency and the highest levels of readiness, in addition to intensifying intelligence efforts and exercising caution to thwart any attempts targeting the country’s security.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of al-Sudani stated in a press release: “The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces conducted an inspection visit to the headquarters of the Border Forces /Sixth Region in Sinjar District, as part of a field tour to monitor the readiness of our armed forces units securing the border strip in Anbar and Nineveh Governorates.”

The statement added: “The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces chaired a meeting at the command headquarters, during which he received a detailed briefing from the Minister of Interior, the commanders of the Western Nineveh Operations, the Nineveh Axis of the Popular Mobilization Forces, the Border Forces of the Sixth Region, and the Director of General Military Intelligence. The briefing included an explanation of the deployment and readiness of the units within their areas of responsibility, and the joint coordination in strengthening security plans and the operation of surveillance systems to ensure border security and pursue remnants of terrorist groups.”

Al-Sudani expressed his confidence in the ability of the security forces, in all their formations, to perform the tasks assigned to them to preserve Iraq’s security and sovereignty. He emphasized the support provided to the forces deployed on the borders with equipment and supplies to enhance their capabilities in carrying out their assigned tasks and duties.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces also directed the continued maintenance of efficiency and the highest levels of readiness, along with intensified intelligence efforts and vigilance to thwart any attempts targeting the country’s security, in light of the current challenges facing the region.
