Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has launched a project to automate sales and property transfer transactions at the General Directorate of Real Estate Registration, part of the Ministry of Justice.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister commended the employees involved in this significant initiative, which aligns with the government’s goals for administrative and financial reform. Al-Sudani highlighted the importance of transparency in transactions, particularly those impacting citizens’ rights. He noted that the Real Estate Registration Department is one of the most frequented government offices by citizens concerning property rights and transfers.
The Prime Minister stated that this project marks a crucial step in reducing bureaucracy and minimizing delays in transaction processes. He emphasized the transition from paper-based to electronic systems as essential for administrative reform. This shift is part of ongoing efforts by the government to achieve digital transformation and adapt to global developments.
Al-Sudani underscored the need for ongoing evaluation and updates to the system to ensure its successful implementation. He stressed that staff operating the system must have the necessary expertise and competence.
He further directed that services provided to citizens be optimized, ensuring the secure processing, storage, and protection of property transactions. Al-Sudani mentioned the importance of integrating the system with other departments, instructing the Ministries of Interior and Finance to expedite the electronic linking procedures to finalize auditing and transaction processes.
