Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has directed the government to address air pollution and implement stricter measures to prevent the indiscriminate burning of waste. The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced that violators of these measures will face punishment.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the directive includes the provision of financial and logistical support to the Ministry of Environment to ensure effective implementation and monitoring. The Ministry of Finance is tasked with providing necessary funds to the Ministry of Environment to secure fuel and maintain vehicles for technical teams, enabling them to perform their monitoring duties efficiently.
