PM directs to complete the ration card automation program to stop the waste of public money

Baghdad The Prime Minister, Muhammad Al-Sudani, directed the Ministry of Trade to complete the ration card automation program as soon as possible, in order to stop the waste of public money.

A statement by his media office stated that Al-Sudani chaired, on Sunday morning, a meeting devoted to discussing the automation of the ration card, in the presence of the Minister of Trade, the Director General of the General Company for Foodstuff Trade, and the head of the advisory board in the Prime Minister’s Office.

According to the statement, during the meeting, the automation program was presented, which includes the adoption of an electronic card for each head of a covered family, and its adoption in distributing the ration card items.

Al-Sudani directed the Ministry of Trade to complete the program as quickly as possible, in order to stop the waste of public money, and to adopt Karbala Governorate as an experimente for implementing the program.

According to the statement, the meeting reviewed the Prime Minister’s directive to take urgent measures to provide the ration card items during the blessed month of Ramadan to all citizens and poor groups covered by the Social Protection Authority, and appropriate decisions were taken in this regard.

It is noteworthy that the new electronic application was prepared by a specialized company, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communications, with the aim of forming a new and updated database by matching it with the current one, in a way that prevents tampering and reveals the names of the deceased and residents outside Iraq and all fictitious names, as well as will contribute to determining the real recipient of the items and make sure of receiving it.”
