PM Highlights Role of Media and Communications Authority in Iraq


Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani emphasized the crucial role of the Communications and Media Commission in regulating media work.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from his media office noted that Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani met with Baligh Mithqal Abu Kalal, the newly appointed head of the Communications and Media Commission’s executive body, on Sunday.



Al-Sudani congratulated Abu Kalal on his new position and underscored the importance of the commission’s role in regulating media activities. He also highlighted the need to invest in and develop the communications sector to enhance its contribution to the state’s resources.



The Prime Minister emphasized focusing on showcasing the positive aspects of various sectors in Iraq. He stressed the importance of portraying Iraq’s true image to reinforce national identity and support the country’s security, stability, and sustainable development opportunities.
