Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has initiated the implementation works for the Diwaniyah refinery expansion project through a video conference. The project is set to enhance the refinery’s capacity by 90,000 barrels per day, with an investment of $800 million.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the expansion project marks a significant step in boosting Iraq’s refining capabilities and meeting the rising demand for oil products. The project aims to enhance the country’s energy infrastructure and support economic growth by increasing the production capacity of the Diwaniyah refinery.
