Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani has instructed the company responsible for implementing the infrastructure for the New Sadr City project to commence operations.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Prime Minister’s media office stated that al-Sudani chaired a regular meeting of the Supreme Committee for the New Sadr City Project. The meeting focused on reviewing the implementation of recommendations from the previous session and presented the recommendations from the Diwani Order Team (250162), which oversees the project’s progress.
The meeting also covered details about the signing and initiation of work by the Chinese company tasked with the project, along with discussions on work schedules, timetables, and components such as the construction of the power station and energy system. Emphasis was placed on completing contracting procedures, and al-Sudani directed the infrastructure company to begin operations after finalizing design plans and selecting four consulting entities.
The statement further noted that the Prime Minister instructed that all security requirements be fulfilled and that development ideas and proposals be continuously studied with the companies involved in the project’s implementation.
