Muscat: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani affirmed that Iraq is currently witnessing a “revolution in services and infrastructure across all sectors.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Sudani met today, Thursday, with members of the Iraqi community in the Sultanate of Oman, welcoming them and emphasizing that his visit aims to strengthen political and official cooperation, in line with the historical and popular relations between the two countries. These relations are based on support, cooperation, principled stances, non-interference in internal affairs, and alignment on many issues.

Al-Sudani highlighted that the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between Iraq and Oman reflect both sides’ commitment to joint cooperation, stressing the significant economic importance of this partnership, especially amid regional challenges, and calling for further investment in untapped natural resources.

The statement added that the Prime Minister also emphasized reforms in Iraq’s financial and banking sector, confirming the country’s return to reliable global financial dealings in accordance with international standards.

Regarding social stability, Al-Sudani noted that “community peace in Iraq is at its best, far from attempts at disruption or distortion,” citing symbolic achievements that reinforce coexistence, including the reopening of the 900-year-old Al-Nuri Mosque in Mosul and the 1,300-year-old Church of the Clock, demonstrating deep-rooted peaceful coexistence among Iraqis.

The Prime Minister stressed that coexistence and fraternity have become a source of strength in overcoming all challenges, asserting that Iraq’s stance on recent regional developments is clear, principled, and reflects the will of its people. He reaffirmed the country’s commitment to safeguarding its security and stability amid rapidly evolving regional changes.
