Prime minister ali faleh al-zaidi affirmed on monday: that fulfilling the duty to the Yazidi victims means achieving justice and revealing the fate of the abductees, while indicating that the state will continue to protect sovereignty, confiscate weapons, and dry up the sources of corruption.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Zaydi said in a tweet on the "X" platform, which was monitored by the agency, 'On the anniversary of the genocide committed by the ISIS terrorist organization against our Yazidi people and other components of our society, we remember one of the most horrific crimes to shock the conscience of humanity. We reaffirm that honoring the victims requires delivering justice, uncovering the fate of the missing, supporting survivors, rebuilding Sinjar, and ensuring the voluntary, safe, and dignified return of the displaced.'

It added, 'As this painful anniversary coincides with the Arbaeen commemoration of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), we draw inspiration from its enduring values of standing against injustice and upholding truth and peace.'

The statement further emphasized honoring the sacrifices of the security forces in all their formations, with the support of allies and the Global Coalition to Defeat ISIS, in achieving victory over ISIS. Al-Zaydi reassured that the state will remain the guarantor of the rights of all its citizens, while continuing to protect Iraq's sovereignty, ensure that arms remain exclusively under state authority, eliminate the sources of corruption, and advance security, stability, development, and justice. The overarching goal is to safeguard the dignity of all Iraqis and prevent such crimes from ever happening again.
