Salah al-din: The 52nd Brigade of the Northern and Eastern Tigris Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) carried out a large-scale security operation today in areas near the Hamrin Mountains, east of Salah al-Din. This operation is part of the security plan for securing the Arbaeen pilgrimage and the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him).
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation aims to comb rugged areas and track down terrorist cells attempting to exploit difficult geographic areas to launch attacks or threaten roads leading to Karbala. This operation coincides with the arrival of pilgrims on foot to commemorate this important religious occasion.
These efforts are part of a series of measures adopted by security leaders and the PMF to ensure the safety of millions of pilgrims heading to Karbala, one of the largest religious events in the world.
