Diyala: A police officer died in a traffic accident on a main road east of Baquba, the capital of Diyala Governorate. According to National Iraqi News Agency, a police source revealed that a lieutenant colonel lost his life after his vehicle collided with a pedestrian bridge pillar on the Baquba-Kanaan road while he was returning home.

The source added that the body was transferred to the forensic medicine department. Security forces have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
