Atlanta: A police officer was killed in a shooting incident on the campus of Emory University in Georgia.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the officer had arrived to respond to a report of gunfire on campus and was taken to the hospital in critical condition before being pronounced dead.

Emory University reported on its X account that there had been gunfire on campus and urged everyone to take shelter in safe places. Later, NBC News reported that the shooter had been found dead.

No civilians were injured, while the police officer was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.
