Baghdad: The General Directorate of Security and Discipline in the Popular Mobilization Authority has successfully apprehended an ISIS terrorist in Baghdad Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a team from the Investigations Directorate within the General Directorate of Security and Discipline of the Popular Mobilization Authority managed to arrest the terrorist who resided in Anbar Governorate. The operation took place after a period of monitoring and pursuit in Baghdad Governorate.

The statement from the Popular Mobilization Authority revealed that the terrorist was active in the so-called Anbar State, a faction affiliated with ISIS. He was instrumental in activating several sleeper cells. During the arrest, authorities seized a pistol equipped with a silencer and an explosive device from the suspect. He was reportedly planning multiple terrorist operations targeting the security forces.
