Kirkuk: The General Military Intelligence Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Forces announced the arrest of an official of the banned Ba’ath Party in Kirkuk Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Directorate indicated that its security detachments, after obtaining the necessary judicial approvals, were able to arrest the accused based on the provisions of Article (10) of the Law Banning the Ba’ath Party.

The statement explained that the accused, identified by the initials (J.S.H.), held the position of official of the civilian wing of the dissolved Ba’ath Party in Al-Zab sub-district of Hawija District in Kirkuk Governorate.

The Directorate added that the necessary legal procedures were taken against the accused, and he was referred to the competent authorities to complete the investigations and receive his just punishment according to the law.
