Baghdad: Units of the 52nd Brigade, under the Northern and East Tigris Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), have initiated security operations to safeguard convoys of pilgrims traveling on foot along the Kirkuk-Baghdad road. This operation is part of a broader security strategy for the Arbaeen pilgrimage dedicated to Imam Hussein.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the PMF has implemented comprehensive security measures that include securing the route from Kirkuk Governorate towards Baghdad. The objective is to protect pilgrims originating from the districts of Daquq, Tuz Khurmatu, and Amerli as they travel to the holy city of Karbala for the pilgrimage. The measures involve field deployment along the route and enhanced security protocols to facilitate the uninterrupted movement of pilgrims.
