Baghdad: A joint force from the Popular Mobilization Forces’ Operations Intelligence and Intelligence and Information Department, in conjunction with the army, seized a number of hideouts belonging to ISIS remnants today, Saturday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Popular Mobilization Commission detailed that the operation took place during a large-scale security sweep in the Great Desert. This area spans the governorates of Nineveh, Anbar, and Salah al-Din. During the operation, a hideout was discovered containing a stockpile of ammunition, including six 120 mm mortar shells, which were detonated on-site.
The statement further revealed that another hideout was found, consisting of a hole in a mud house, which contained an 81 mm mortar shell. Additionally, a hideout comprising a container attached to a house was seized and processed along with its accessories.
