Baghdad: The Preparatory Committee continues its ceremonial preparations for the Arab Summit, which will be held in Baghdad on May 17.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Council of Ministers’ Secretariat revealed that the Preparatory Committee for Ceremonial Arrangements held a meeting chaired by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Nayef al-Dulaimi. This meeting included participants from various key protocol departments such as the Prime Minister’s Office, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Presidency of the Republic. This gathering is part of the national efforts to ensure the successful organization of the upcoming Arab Summit in Baghdad.

The Protocol Department of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers highlighted that coordination among the various parties was achieved during the meeting. This coordination is crucial for supporting organizational efforts, ensuring follow-up, and providing general supervision of work streams. The aim is to enhance integration with other relevant departments to facilitate smooth preparations.

The attendees of the meeting discussed executive plans for both the preparatory meetings and the main summit event. They emphasized the importance of adhering to timetables and ceremonial standards. This adherence is critical to ensuring the summit is organized at the highest level, thereby reflecting Iraq’s significant position and its pivotal role in fostering joint Arab action.
