Tehran: The adviser to the Iranian Armed Forces’ Supreme Commander, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi, has warned of the possibility of a new war, cautioning that it could be the last, and emphasized the need to strengthen offensive capabilities to confront the worst-case scenarios. In remarks to Iranian media, Safavi stated that “Iran is not in a ceasefire phase, but in a state of war,” noting that any temporary truce could collapse at any moment.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Safavi added that “no protocol or agreement has been signed between Iran and Israel, nor between Iran and the United States,” pointing out that Washington and Tel Aviv believe that peace is imposed by force, which necessitates that Iran be strong regionally and globally. He stressed that “a ceasefire only means a temporary halt to the fire, which can resume at any time.”

Safavi further explained, “We, the military, plan for the worst-case scenarios and prepare strategies accordingly,” highlighting the importance of enhancing both defensive systems and offensive capabilities simultaneously, including diplomatic, media, cyber, missile, and drone capacities.
