Baghdad:President of the Republic Nizar Amedi praised the contributions of Russian Ambassador Elbrus Kotrachev during his diplomatic mission in Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Presidency indicated that President Amedi met with Ambassador Kotrachev at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad on Thursday to mark the conclusion of the ambassador’s tenure.

Discussions during the meeting focused on the development of Iraqi-Russian relations and the potential for further collaboration to benefit both nations and their citizens.

The President acknowledged the ambassador’s efforts and expressed his best wishes for Kotrachev’s future endeavors. Ambassador Kotrachev, in return, thanked President Amedi for the support and cooperation extended to him during his stay in Iraq, and he conveyed his hopes for ongoing security and prosperity for the Iraqi people.
