Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and President Abdul Latif Rashid have underscored the necessity of finding radical solutions, within the constitutional and legal frameworks, to address the financial obligations between the central government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Prime Minister's statement disclosed that al-Sudani met with the President to discuss the nation's general situation, including political and economic developments, as well as the progress of government programs. A significant focus of their meeting was the need for solutions to the financial disagreements between the federal government and the KRG, to be achieved through constitutional steps, budget law provisions, and a decision by the Federal Court. The leaders also highlighted the urgency of enacting the oil and gas law.

The meeting further highlighted the importance of national unity to enhance security and societal stability across Iraq. Preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections were also discussed as a vital aspect of the democratic process, with the intention of reflecting the will of the Iraqi people and supporting the nation's construction, reconstruction, and development in a stable environment.
