President Nizar Amidi Condemns Attacks on Erbil and Sulaimaniyah, Reaffirms Iraq’s Stance Against Regional Conflicts

Baghdad: The President of the Republic of Iraq, Nizar Amidi, has condemned the recent attacks on the cities of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah, emphasizing Iraq's stance against being used as a venue for regional conflicts or as a battleground for settling scores.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the President expressed his concerns in a message on the social media platform (X). He stated, "We condemn the attacks that targeted the cities of Erbil and Sulaimaniyah, and we affirm that any targeting of Iraqi territory, under any pretext, constitutes an unacceptable violation of Iraq's sovereignty and threatens the security and stability of its citizens."

The President further reiterated Iraq's refusal to be an arena for conflicts, emphasizing its commitment to fostering relationships based on mutual respect and good neighborliness. This approach, he noted, is essential to preserving the sovereignty of states and ensuring that the region's peoples are spared further escalation and instability.
