Baghdad: The President of the Republic, Nizar Amidi, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, following the passing of his father, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, President Amidi sent a telegram expressing his profound sadness and sorrow over the news. In his message, he conveyed, "We received with great sadness and sorrow the news of the death of your father, the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God have mercy on him. On this painful occasion, I extend, on my own behalf and on behalf of the Republic of Iraq, government and people, our deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to you, your esteemed family, and the brotherly Qatari people."

President Amidi further added his prayers, asking God Almighty to grant Sheikh Hamad abundant mercy, to admit him into Paradise, and to provide patience and solace to his family and loved ones during this time of mourning. He concluded his message with a reflection on the shared human experience of loss, stating, "To God we belong and to Him we shall return."
