Baghdad: President Nizar Amidi has underscored the importance of enhancing economic stability and advancing the trade sector in Iraq. During a meeting with Minister of Trade Mustafa Al-Ani, the President emphasized the need for continued efforts to support the national economy’s growth and solidify Iraq’s commercial standing.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a presidential statement revealed that the meeting focused on the current trade situation. President Amidi highlighted the necessity of regular and adequate provision of essential goods through the ration card system, aiming to stabilize the market and improve the livelihood security of citizens, especially those from low-income families.
The Minister of Trade, Mustafa Al-Ani, presented the ministry’s strategic plans to ensure food supply security. He affirmed ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination with relevant parties to facilitate the smooth distribution of ration card items as per approved plans. Additionally, he mentioned the expansion of trade cooperation with friendly nations and the pursuit of new investment partnerships, which are expected to positively impact trade and cater to local market demands.
